Background
The Minna no Uta Hakkutsu Project started in 2009 and is an initiate to archive ~500 lost songs from the program due to loss of master tapes, audio, and film from 1961-1982. Due to the copyright law of the time, price of film reels, and overwriting tapes. Similar issues plagued the BBC (e.g. Doctor Who missing episodes).
