Synopsis

During the reign of Emperor Yao, the Yellow River God forcibly married a young woman, causing frequent floods. Several tribes rebelled and harassed the people, attempting to split Emperor Yao. Ten suns appeared in the sky simultaneously, and demons roamed the earth, bringing immense suffering and endangerment to the people. The young archer Hou Yi, gifted the divine bow of the Sun God, quelled the rebellion, vanquished the demons, shot down nine suns, and turned the tide of war, fulfilling his ideal of "bringing peace to the world and happiness to all people," becoming a hero celebrated throughout history. However, the traitor Feng Meng, taking advantage of Hou Yi's absence on a campaign, stole the elixir of immortality from Hou Yi's home. In desperation, Chang'e swallowed the elixir, ascending to the moon and becoming an immortal. From then on, Chang'e and Hou Yi were forever separated, leaving behind a beautiful and moving myth.
